La Ferronnerie, Exposition Des Arts Decoratifs Paris, 1926
An incredible portfolio created for the 1925 Exposition Internationale des Arts Décoratifs et Industriels Modernes—the first major design exhibition in post-war France—this event became a defining showcase of decorative architectural ironwork that defined the Art Deco movement in France. It featured works from many of the country’s most prominent creatives, including early pieces by a young Jean Prouvé, who, in the same year, established his first workshop dedicated to wrought iron craftsmanship and fabrication. Other work featured from; Piguest, Schenck, Subes, Baguès Frères, Ruhlmann, Brandt, Lévy, Desvallières, Dufrène, Szabo, and others.
